This New American restaurant beautifully blends innovative flavors with locally sourced ingredients, creating a dining experience that is both delightful and memorable. Nestled at 44 E Blithedale Ave, this charming spot is a gateway to a world of taste that leaves diners yearning for more.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a vibrant tropical-inspired ambiance that instantly lifts your spirit. The warmth of the decor perfectly complements the friendly and attentive service, providing a relaxed yet upscale dining atmosphere. As you settle in, prepare to embark on a gastronomic adventure with an enticing menu that highlights both tradition and creativity.

Bungalow 44 is famous for its starters, like the irresistible Hamachi Poppers. These crisp treats are served with creamy avocado and ponzu that dances on your taste buds, setting a delightful tone for your meal. Another customer favorite is the Fresh Garbanzo Hummus, which takes roasted green garbanzo beans, pickled vegetables, and grilled naan, transforming simple ingredients into a plate of exquisite flavors.

For a slightly more adventurous palate, dive into the Crazy Corn dish, featuring a hint of sriracha aioli and a sprinkle of parmesan and lime. Each bite is a burst of sweetness and heat that perfectly complements the more robust options on the menu. Don't miss the Roasted Cauliflower with charred eggplant tahini and chimichurri, an example of how vegetables can shine in a traditionally meat-centric world.

As you make your way to the entrees, choices like the perfectly pan-seared Barramundi and the Grilled Tofu are sure to impress. The barramundi is served with a flavorful shiro miso broth, bringing to life fresh baby bok choy and jalapeños in a masterpiece uniting textures and tastes. The grilled tofu, coated with a coconut-cilantro sauce, delivers an experience that’s both fulfilling and light, making it a fantastic pick for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

Customer reviews echo the restaurant’s commitment to quality and an unforgettable experience. Dean M praises the precision in cooking, calling the salmon “perfectly soft and warm,” while Nicole W describes her steak frites as “absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor.” Each review paints a picture of not just good food, but of a place where memories are created over shared plates.

I had not been here for many years but will now certainly add it to my favorites. The cooking is absolutely first rate. Someone in the kitchen really knows what they are doing. Professional service too. The gazpacho was unique and awesome. Salmon perfectly soft and warm inside. Barramundi nice and crispy. One quibble: the menu justifies a 4% service fee because of "record inflation". The average 3% inflation over the past five years is hardly a record compared to the 13% levels seen around 1980. The tariffs and deficits may get us to record territory some day, but we are not there now. It would be sufficient to say there is a service fee to better pay staff.

Loved my experience at Bungalow 44 in Mill Valley! The steak frites was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also had a spicy margarita that was bold, refreshing, and just the right amount of heat. The service was fantastic—super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The tropical-inspired ambiance made the whole place feel fun and relaxing. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

We went to bungalow 44 this past weekend and we’re not disappointed! We started off with the hamachi poppers and steak tartare. Both were delicious and a perfect start to the meal. Paired with the starters was an old-fashioned cocktail - very well made. Next, we ordered a few dishes to go with our entrée, we enjoyed the cornbread, the corn ribs, and the gnocchi. The corn ribs were by far the stand out with a fun presentation and delicious sauce. For our entrée, we ordered the pork chop. It came with delicious sides, including polenta and peaches. Unfortunately the pork chop was a little overcooked although they were super busy, so I’m sure the kitchen had a lot going on.

Definitely 10/10 experience!!!! Got marrow bone for a starter and it was my first time trying marrow bone, it was something else! I could eat another 5 plates of it. Also got fillet for my main and attaching pics to show how perfect it was. Absolutely beautiful experience thank you so much for this. Service was absolutely brilliant too!

Dinned at Bungalow 44 with some friends, and they consider this place one of their favorites in the area. It's my favorite now too! Food is absolutely exceptional and the atmosphere is fabulous. Coming back this weekend again with a party of 12 to celebrate couple of birthdays. Looking forward to another delicious meal!

My friends live in Mill Valley and couldn’t have chosen a better spot for dinner than Bungalow 44. We sat indoors as outdoors was full and had a great time. From the cocktails to $1 oysters to the hamachi poppers to fish to the flatbread to the dessert everything was delicious. Our server was really nice too, I didn’t catch his name but when I mentioned I’m from Thailand he spoke to me in Thai which was cool! Would definitely go back to Bungalow and recommend it to anyone looking for a nicer spot for dinner in Mill Valley.

Decided to try Bungalow 44 based on a recommendation, and I’m sure glad we did. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, warm hospitality, and great food. Started off with Hamachi Peppers, which were absolutely bonkers—so tasty! The steak tartare was good, as were the Corn Ribs, quite innovative with a nice sauce and a twist on the usual way of eating corn. Short ribs as a main, with mushroom risotto substituted for mash, were astonishing. Perfectly salted with lots of flavor. The fried chicken was okay. I’ve never understood the concept that well, as the meat is usually quite dry and all the taste is pretty much in the crust. Easy 5/5
